Alison Kendall is a freelance artist, graphic designer, and marine biologist, currently living and working in Northern California. She earned her B.S. in Marine Biology from UC Santa Cruz in 2000, spending the next four years on a coastal biodiversity survey team, collecting data from Southeast Alaska to mainland Mexico.
In 2004, Alison returned to UCSC for her Master’s Certificate in science illustration, and went on to spend a year working as an art director and illustrator for Scientific American magazine. In 2005 she returned to California to work as a freelance artist and designer.
Alison’s clients include: Scientific American magazine, Make magazine, Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary (MBNMS), Piaktus Books, University of California, Roshambo winery, Flying Goat Coffee, Watershed Media, PhycoID, Electronic Publishing Services (EPS) Inc.
